Ray Lavoie and the Country Cavaliers

Ray Lavoie has been a musician in the Niagara area for over the past 40 years,since he moved to this area from Sudbury,Ont.He has performed with several of his own bands that he has formed in the past,including Country Pride,and for many years travelled all over Ontario and Quebec;and especially at many venues in St Catharines and the Niagara area.Ray recorded his own CD in 2008 with many of the favourite songs that people request on it.He called it,"Country Pride"with Ray Lavoie. It was a sell-out.

Ray has been a longtime member of Club Lasalle and has been an executive board member in the past. Ray is now the new Music Director for Club Lasalle.

The Country Cavaliers band was formed in the middle of Mar/2010,to replace the former band Pioneer Jammers who are no longer affiliated with Club Lasalle.Ray Lavoie is the band leader,and is the MC, lead vocalist and lead rythm guitar with the band. Other members of the band are well known local musicians that Ray has known and played music with for the past 5 or 6 years.Norma Levesque is the lead guitarist and dobro player and also does some vocals.Norma was also one of the original band members of the Club Lasalle band when they began the thursday night Open Mic evenings several years ago.Elmer Carnes plays rythm guitar and is also the Sound Man.George Rout plays a terrific steel guitar and also has a CD out. Mike Farrauto is the bass guitarist.Maisie Dalzell is the band photographer and advertising staff,and is also involved with equipment handling and set-up.

All these musicians have come together and added their own talents and experience to form a new band called "Ray Lavoie And The Country Cavaliers".

The band plays every thursday from 7:00p-10:30p or possibly till 11:00p when required.The band will also play at several other events throughout the year.This is an "Open Mic"venue and all are welcome to perform, or just come out and dance and enjoy the evening. Come and join us.All are welcome!
